Push-button convenience with the highest accuracy and precision are all designed into the new AF8 Volumetric Karl Fischer Titrator.
A clearly defined, colour-coded keypad and LCD screen lead the user through a simple routine to reach the best parameters for precise moisture content results. A permanent bar graph indicates vessel solution status.
Stirrer speeds are adjustable from the keyboard. Software reset can be implemented from the keyboard as well.
Operating reagent, solvent and waste product containers are plumbed directly to the titration vessel, creating a fully-sealed chemical handling system. Vessel filling and draining are controlled by the user with a single keystroke. The use of a peristaltic autometering dispenser provides a continuous delivery KF reagent, overcoming the inconvenience of refilling burettes.

The modular design has the advantage of keeping corrosive chemicals away from the electronics, providing maximum long-term reliability.
Versatile
The unique glass-to-glass vessel sealing design ensures that there is always a moisture-tight seal to the reaction vessel. There are no rubber gaskets that can be attacked by organic solvents. This system also permits a wide selection of titration vessels to meet almost any application. A top entry opening can be adjusted to suit the size and structure of the material being analysed. The vessel can be opened to the width of a syringe needle for liquids or wider to accommodate solid samples up to 23mm across. Controlling the sample introduction in this manner, significantly improves analytical results.
Automatic Titration
The complete titration procedure, from sample introduction to analysis results, is carried out by a microprocessor controlled routine. The operator pre-programs the routine to optimise conditions for the material being analysed.
Just introduce the sample and press the ‘YES’ button to perform an exact moisture titration by volume. To perform moisture and titration by weight, either press ‘YES’ and enter the weight, or connect your balance to the AF8 via an RS232C interface for direct transfer of weight information.
Unattended, the peristaltic dispenser precisely controls the addition of reagent until the reaction is complete. Calibration confidence is assured because the standardisation routine automatically rejects flawed results.
